Humanity for Horses is a nonprofit that deeply cares about animals

Humanity for Horses was launched in 2011, when a law was passed allowing horses to be slaughtered in the U.S. They go above and beyond when it comes to rescuing these precious souls from all kinds of abuse. Once the animal is rescued, they live out the rest of their life at a beautiful sanctuary.   The incredible devotion, whether that be medical, healthy daily feed, or home shelters and pastures is astounding.  Each animal is treated individually and is not just turned out to run wild.  They do not take volunteers because their main desire is to help the animal feel safe with humans, which takes commitment and familiarization. They have a live-in team and a wonderful hospital, with constant vet involvement. This was urgent because they take the animals that are the sickest and need the most attention, leaving them to be the beautiful beings that no one wants.  They also take the time to assist other animal nonprofits that rescue dogs and cats.  Today, 750 animals, over 600 of them being horses, live peacefully at the sanctuary.

Their motto is “when you save an animal – you save an angel.”
